Every year Claus’ Sausage Fest brings together many people in the Hazel Grove area. It is organised by Jane (my girlfriends mum) and her partner Claus. The couple invite friends and family for a night of entertainment and to sample a taste of Germany, Claus’ home country. This year, the event took place at the Hazel Grove Lacrosse Club on the 29th December 2012.
This year Claus’ Sausage Fest was used as a way to raise money for WaterAid; A charity which aims to improve the access to safe water in the world’s poorest communities. Throughout the evening, guests were treated to mugs of mulled wine, freshly barbequed German sausages and many other traditional German delights. Jane, Claus and their friends also organised a quiz, raffle and a fire breathing entertainer. Around 50 people turned up to this years Sausage Fest and in total the event raised £235 for WaterAid.
It was great to be invited to the event and to help raise money for such a good cause. We are already looking forward to next years….bring on the sausages!!!!
